Reflections, regrets

REFLECTIONS.  As I look back to our time in Greece I can't help but feel the itinerary I planned really gave us a good taste of Greece.  From the big city vibe of Athens to the magic of the Greek islands it was a dream of a trip.  My love for exploring and learning about ancient civilizations was completely satisfied due to the amount of history that is Greece.  And I can't forget about the culture, the food, the friendliness of the Greek people which made this trip so memorable.  I still can't believe I ate escargot-a snail-in Crete!

REGRETS.  I have just a few regrets.  There were some places that I wished I had planned more time.  I originally planned 3 nights on each island we visited-Mykonos, Santorini, and Rhodes-with the exception of Crete.  If I had a do over knowing what I know now I would have spent 4 nights in each of those 3 islands especially Rhodes.  For Athens I think I would have liked 2 more nights.  I wish I had taken pictures of all our dinners, not just the few that I did.  I wish I had kept a more detailed account of our time in Crete.  Just being with our friends George and Dimitra my journaling kind of fell by the wayside.  I loved raki and really wish I could have brought a bottle home.  I haven't been able to find Greek raki at our liquor store.  Turkish but not Greek.

I hope this little blog of mine may be of help to anyone thinking about a trip to Greece.  I probably included too many pictures but I couldn't help myself!  Including cost/prices may be of help when thinking about a budget for Greece.  Greece lived up to my expectations and more.  It truly is glorious  country.  Go visit glorious Greece!
